Attentive good friendly professional service. In an ideal location - near shopping, restaurants, karaoke, convenience stores, and everything you'd want. Near the Sapporo landmarks...we loved where we were located! A bit pricey, but yummy breakfast buffet. Japanese and Western style. Clean! Steps from bus stop. Beautiful view of the city & the mountains. Very quiet & peaceful.

My husband and I just got back from a 3 night stay in Sapporo, at the tail end of a ski trip to Niseko, Hokkaido. I booked Okura based on some previous posts, and am happy to say we were very pleased with our experience. The room (their standard room) was much more spacious than other Japanese ones we've stayed in previously, very clean, had nice bathrobes and a bright bathroom with spacious (again!) bath tub and good water pressure (something that's often disappointing about hotel showers). The breakfast that came with our booking was a good variety and everything they offered was of very high quality. Service was friendly, s'thing I've learnt not to take for granted in hotels anywhere, and the location was good. HIGHLY recommended.

This hotel is a short walking distance to the park (Odori) in which the Sapporo Snow Festival is held. The hotel is quite nice--not Four Seasons nice, but nice open lobby, and modern rooms. The view from our room was of city roofs--not especially beautiful, but hey, it's a city. The staff was ample and very accommodating, although none were completely competent in English. (Not unusual for Sapporo area). The buffet for breakfast was adequate, but not exceptional--a mix of Japanese and western foods. The rooms were very clean, but occasionally the smell of cigarette smoke would waft through the room. Overall, I was pleased with my one night stay.
