The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It is right next to the JR station. The hotel itself looked tired. The carpets and elevators were old. My single room was small and old-fashioned, but clean. I emailed the hotel a couple of times with some questions, and I received the response within 10 minutes!!! Their service was very impressive. The hotel had its own bus to and from the Asashikawa zoo, which was a great service to the guests.

The hotel is located right next to the Asahikawa JR station and hotel lobby can be accessed without leaving the station. The room is tiny, but is clean and comfortable as you would expect from a Japanese hotel. It serves us well as we used it merely as a transit point to catch a bus to Sounkyo early in the morning. The front desk staff are great and attentive. There is a portable heater provided in room. an internet pc is provided at the lobby.

Stayed here for 2 nights on 11 and 12 Dec with my wife. Room is considered pretty spacious if you compare with business hotels in Tokyo. The room has a queen sized bed, and next to it is a study table that also double up as a cablnet for the LCD TV and mini fridge. Breakfast buffet comes with the rate, and the quality and range is good. There is the Japanese section with about 7-8 varieties. Overall, happy with the hotel as the location make it so convenient in snowy Asahikawa during our stay. If only the room had looked more modern and offered in-room internet access, that would have gotten a perfect score from me.
